Archiving Roles and Personas
Use
There are different types of users that have different tasks within the Knowledge Management and Collaboration (KMC) data archiving process. The following table provides information about the user types and the corresponding portal roles involved in the archiving process according to the SAP default implementation:
|
User Type |
Portal Role |
Description |
|---|---|---|
|
System Administrator |
System Admin or Super Admin |
System administrators are responsible for configuring the KMC archiving landscape and for triggering the archiving of the objects marked for archiving by content administrators. |
|
Content Administrator |
Content Admin or Super Admin |
Content administrators are responsible for defining the KMC data relevant for archiving. In the case of an archiving scenario with decentralized governance, they manage the archiving approval workflow. |
|
KMC Archiving Object Owner |
Standard User |
Archiving object owners can forbid the archiving of their objects. In an archiving scenario with decentralized governance, they need to approve or reject the archiving of their objects. |
If your archiving scenario requires it, you can modify the SAP default implementation as follows:
-
You can configure the portal roles for which the Archiving UI command is visible. In the default implementation, the Archiving UI command is visible for users with Content Admin and Super Admin portal roles. The Archiving UI command determines who can define the data relevant for archiving and who can manage the archiving approval process.
-
You can change the default object owner for the KM resource archiving object.
