Deactivating Indexes

Use

You deactivate an index if you want the index to be temporarily unavailable to portal users.

Deactivating an index has the following consequences:

• The system no longer searches this index when a search is started.

• The index is no longer available in the search options.

• Taxonomies that are assigned to this index are no longer visible in the /taxonomies repository.

• Documents from assigned data sources are no longer indexed. New documents and changes to documents are not reflected in the index.

Procedure

To deactivate an index:

1. Select it in the index list in the Index Administration iView

   .

2. Choose Deactivate .
