Specifying the Portal URL

Use

To enable KM to generate URLs for services, you need to specify the address of the portal in KM configuration.

In the portal, choose System Administration → System Configuration → Knowledge Management → Content Management → Global Services.
Choose Show Advanced Options and then URL Generator Service.
Choose Edit. In the Hosts parameter, enter the address of the local portal server including the protocol, host name, domain, and port number.

Note

Normally you enter the protocol used by the portal. If the portal uses both http and https, then enter one of these as the default for Knowledge Management. Knowledge Management then supports both http and https, but uses the default protocol you enter here to generate the URLs that are required for Knowledge Management services.
