Determination of the Start Time of the Retention Period

The start of the retention period is determined based on the following logic:

The last date on which the status of the application was changed is used as the reference date. The application must have one of the following statuses:

  • Draft

  • Not Selected

  • Withdrawn

  • To Be Hired

In rules evaluation, the system determines the specific, most recent date of change as the reference date. You can use the time offset to override the reference date.

For example, if you specified the time offset END_OF_MONTH when defining your retention rules, the system uses it on the determined start date when evaluating rules. This means that the retention period starts at the end of the month in which the determined last change date lies.
