Prerequisites

You are on the Archive Administration initial screen.

Procedure

  1. Enter the object name PA_PDOC and choose Continue.

    The actions that you can perform for the entered archiving object are listed.

  2. Choose Write.

    The Archive Administration: Create Archive Files screen appears.

  3. Maintain a variant.

  4. Choose a Start Date.

    After saving, the traffic light must be green.

  5. Enter the Spool Parameters.

    After saving, the traffic light must be green.

  6. Choose Execute.

Result

The document line items of the payroll documents that you selected using the variant were written to an archive file and then deleted from the database.

To check the archiving process, choose Job Overview.

  • When archiving or the destruction of data is successful, the archiving session has the status Completed.

  • When archiving or the destruction of data is not successful, the archiving session has the status Terminated. In this case, perform archiving or the destruction of data again. Proceed as follows:

    1. Correct the errors.

    2. Delete the failed archiving session or data destruction session from the job overview.

    3. Repeat archiving or the destruction of data with the same variant.

    A data destruction session was performed successfully when the end of the retention period for payroll documents has been reached. The data is then deleted from the archive and from the database.
