Period Management

Use

There are a number of periods that must be adhered to within the change of supplier process:

  • Periods determined by the market regulations

  • Periods determined by bilateral agreements between the market partners

  • Periods that are dependent on the switch type (change of supplier, start of supply, and end of supply all have different periods)

  • Periods that are different for different point of delivery groups (according to the agreements)

  • Project-specific periods that must be adhered to in addition to the market-specific periods

Features

The period management function allows you to define and monitor periods and deadlines flexibly.

Example Example

Periods and deadlines for change of supplier:

  • Move-in: On the first of the month (for example, April 1st 2003)

  • Move-out: On the last of the month (for example, March 31st 2003)

  • Registration period: One month before move-out (for example, February 28th 2003)

  • Termination period: 5 working days after the registration period has expired

  • Maximum processing time for registration/termination (for distributor):

10 working days after the termination period has expired

  • Future move-in: No later than 4 months after the receiving the message

Periods and deadlines for end of supply:

  • Move-out: Daily (for example, March 11th 2003)

  • Termination period (retroactive end of supply): 6 weeks after move-out

  • And so on.

End of the example.

Note Note

The checks of the set periods against the registration and termination for grid usage are included in the standard solution as check methods of the check framework.

Alternative Definition of Periods in the Service Provider Agreement

You can redefine individual periods and deadlines in the service provider agreement (as a result of bilateral agreements in the supplier’s outline contract). The redefinition is dependent on the switch type and can, if necessary, be set according to specific point of delivery groups.

You must select the Period Type Can Be Redefined in Service Provider Agreement indicator before you can change the definition of the period in the service provider agreement.

Note Note

The redefined periods are used immediately the next time the process is executed. You do not have to adjust the workflow implementation.

Check Period Definition

The system does not carry out any consistency checks when you save the period definition. The fact that you can define relative and absolute periods that are based on other switch types means that the definition can be very complicated. If an error occurs, the periods cannot be calculated because of a recursive period definition, for example. In this case, the switch process using this period definition terminates with a critical error. To prevent this error from occurring, you can check the consistency of the period definitions by starting the period calculation independently of the switch process.

Use report REEIDE_SWITCH_TEST_SWTTIMES to check the period definitions. Enter the scheduled move-in date (or the move-out date for end of supply) as the key date.

Note Note

If you only want to check the Customizing settings for the period definitions, select the Check Customizing indicator. Any changed definitions in the service provider agreement are then not taken into account during the check.
