Planning

SAP Analytics Cloud has many planning tools for collaboratively creating and updating model data to carry out planning tasks. At its simplest, planning involves typing values directly into table cells in planning models.

Here is an overview of core planning features available in SAP Analytics Cloud:

Version Management	Lets you maintain multiple categories and versions of the data and work with them side-by-side.
Data Entry	Lets you enter data and adjust multiple cells more quickly and effectively using features such as copy and paste, value locks, and mass data entry.
Structured Allocations	Lets you establish a reusable process for allocating values in one dimension across members of other dimensions.
Currency Conversion	Lets you display data in multiple currencies side-by-side, apply different conversion rates, or simulate how different exchange rate predictions might impact your data.
Data Actions	Lets you initiate sequences of copy and paste actions, allocation steps, embedded data actions, currency conversion steps, and advanced formula calculations created using a script or visual editor.
Multi Actions	Lets you link together a sequence of data actions, predictive steps, and version management steps and run the sequence using a multi action starter in a story.
Value Driver Trees	Lets you visualize the relationship between drivers and KPIs by adding model data and calculations to nodes and then linking them in a directed graph.
Input Mode in BPC Embedded	Lets you switch between input mode and view mode when you work with tables in BPC Embedded.
Renaming Account and Measures	Lets you rename the Account and Measure dimensions directly in the Builder Panel.
Validation Rules	Lets you create rules that define allowed member combinations across different dimensions to restrict planned data entry.
Data Locking	Lets you set up locks on the model data, which prevents the locked values from being changed by data entry and other planning operations in stories.
Planning Panel	Lets you enter distribute a value to multiple cells in a table, or redistribute the values of a group of cells.
Recommended Planning Area	Lets you use a subset of data to create private versions or edit public versions, based on data locking, data access control, or both.
Predictive Planning Scenarios	Lets you use a planning model as a data source for a predictive time series forecast, and write the forecast data back to your planning model.
Predictive Forecasts in Tables	Lets you forecast values based on a cell in a table, and optionally add the forecast values to your table.
