Key Figures for Vehicle Consumption Analysis

Use

The following key figures exist for measurement documents for vehicles:

  • Distance covered

  • Operating hours

  • Fuel mass

  • Fuel volume

Further key figures are calculated dynamically in the system. However, they merely serve as examples and, therefore, are not described.

Prerequisites

You have configured the settings for the update in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under Measurement Document Update.

Features

You can use the measurement document update to evaluate fuel consumption data statistically.

You can choose whether the consumption of any vehicle should be evaluated in an object-specific (for each vehicle type) or individual (for each vehicle) way. The evaluation of the data is possible in various units and does not depend on the respective entry unit. Key figures, such as the overall actual costs for each vehicle and kilometers travelled, or for each operating hour, are of particular interest.

In general it is not advisable to sum up the key figures mentioned. Instead, separate methods of list accumulation should be used. The methods calculate the key figure values by cell, and are realized as function modules. As not all customer requests are covered in the standard system, this part is flexibly structured and can be enhanced.

Note Note

The period unit of the information structure can influence the quality of the statistical data obtained. The recording time of the measurement documents plays an important role here. To obtain realistic evaluation results, the measurement documents should be recorded as near as possible to the changeover between two consecutive statistic periods.

End of the note.

Time of the Update

The system updates the key figures when you save a measurement document, which was created for the counter for a technical object. Measurement documents which arise from the transfer of measurement values and counter readings are not considered in the update.

Caution Caution

Note that for the definition of an internal information structure only those key figures, which were updated exclusively for this point in time, are used. Otherwise it could happen that, when an information structure is rebuilt, the measurement document data of notification- or order data is overwritten or initialized.

End of the caution.

Data for costs

As no data for the costs is available for the point in time when the measurement documents were saved, this must be read from another information structure. This is done using the data accumulation in the analysis report RMCI110 for the same point in time, for which the data was read from the information structure in accordance with the selection screen.

The key figures are then available in the internal structures of the Plant Maintenance Information System (PMIS), just as they were updated in the information structure. You can use the key figure to calculate further key figures.

Calculating further key figures

From the key figures mentioned above, you can calculate further performance key figures (for example, fuel volume for distances traveled or for each operating hour). The settlement rule for these dynamic key figures can be freely defined in each system of units, so that country-specific definitions can be mapped simply.

Example Example

In Germany the consumption for each route is specified using liters/100km, whereas in the USA the units miles/gallon is used for the corresponding key figure.

End of the example.

In the case of this example, you can use a function module, which performs different calculations depending on the system of units, to calculate the key figure. In each system of units you can define an individual function module for the key figure.
