Maps Tab Page
Use
Maps define the qualities that comprise a given material. The Maps tab displays all available texture maps for the selected material. It enables you to perform a number of procedures including selecting, modifying, and saving textures maps, removing textures from maps, opacity across individual channels, and applying texture blending.
Features
If you click a Map icon for a map that has a texture, the texture is displayed. You can also display information relating to the selected map including its location, size, and number of materials to which it is associated as shown in the example below.
Note that opacity can be applied across all channels (ambient, diffuse, specular, and so on) using the Basic Tab Page.
The Maps tab page offers the following features:

Texture Field |
The image used as the texture for the selected map. |

Layer |
Shows the existing textures that associated with the scene, and their appropriate layer.

Amount |
Determines the texture map's strength. For example, the opacity of the Diffuse map or the 'bumpiness' of the Bump map. |

Offset U |
Determines the texture map's position on the surface along the U offset coordinate. |
|
Offset V |
Determines the texture map's position on the surface along the V offset coordinate. |
|
Scale U |
Determines the texture map's size along the U coordinate. |
|
Scale V |
Determines the texture map's size along the V coordinate. |
|
Angle |
Determines the texture map's angle of rotation on the surface. |

U Tile |
Tiles the texture map along the U coordinate. |
|
V Tile |
Tiles the texture map along the V coordinate. |

More Properties |
Opens the Additional Map Properties window and is used to modify various, additional map properties for the selected map. |
Activities
To display map information, click the Map icon for which you want to display information and then click Information.
