Steps and Procedures Right-Click Menu

Use

The Steps and Procedures panel menu contains a number of commands used to control the steps and procedures, including viewing, arranging, activating, and renaming steps, and updating the step thumbnails. In addition, you can create and edit procedures containing specific steps.

Available options differ, depending on the current position of the cursor.

Procedures

The following right-click options are available for procedures.

Menu Option

Functional Description

Play

Plays the selected step in the selected viewport

Reset

Resets the step to the first frame of the animation defined in the sequence list for the step

Reset to End

Resets the step to the last frame of the animation defined in the sequence list for the step

Update Thumbnail

Update the thumbnail for the step or procedure.

Select Assignment Layers

Opens the Assignment Layer - Selection window, and allows you to find assignment irregularities (multiply assigned or over consumed).

New Procedure

Creates a new procedure

Rename Procedure

Rename the selected procedure

Delete Procedure

Deletes the selected procedure

Duplicate

Makes a duplicate of the selected step or procedure

Duplicate and Reverse

Makes a duplicate of the selected procedure, in reverse order

Reverse

Reverse the step order of the selected procedure.

Render to Raster or Video

Opens the Render To window, and allows you to render the selected procedure to a raster image file or an AVI file.

Create Step

Opens the Step Properties window, and creates a new step with the current render and viewport settings.

Renumerate Step

The Renumerate Steps command goes through each step in a procedure starting from the beginning, removes all tail numbers, and adds new numbers starting from 1.

Procedure Properties

Opens the Procedure Properties window, and allows you to modify the selected procedure properties.

Steps

The following right-click options are available for steps:

Play

Plays the selected step in the selected viewport

Reset

Resets the step to the first frame of the animation defined in the sequence list for the step

Reset to End

Resets the step to the last frame of the animation defined in the sequence list for the step

Delete

Deletes the selected step

Update Step

Updates the selected step with the current render and viewport settings

Update

Performs various update functions:
  • Update Render Mode: Update the render mode of the selected step, ignoring the camera view and scene visibility, to current render mode state.

  • Selection Visibility: Updates the selected step visibility options. For example, grid
  • Camera: Update the camera of the selected steps to the current camera view. This option enables you to easily adjust the initial view in a selected step or make consistent camera view in all steps.

Add to

Adds the selected step to a procedure

Move to

Moves the selected step to another procedure

Copy Link to Clipboard

Creates a link to the clipboard

Remove from Procedure

Removes the selected step from the procedure

Render to Raster or Video

Opens the Render To window, and allows you to render the selected step or steps and animation sequences to a raster image file or an AVI file.

Render to Vector

Opens the Vector Illustration window, and allows you to render the selected step or steps and animation sequences to a vector image file.

Highlight Sequences

Opens the Animation Sequence Highlight Properties window, and allows you to automatically highlight all objects that are animated within attached animation sequences per step.

Highlight Selection

Opens the Selection Highlight Properties window, and allows you to set colors and animation to the currently selected parts in the step.

Remove Highlight

If one is selected, remove the selected highlight. If no highlights are selected, all highlights are removed from the step.

Reverse Step

Reverses the animation in the step

Add Assignment

Opens the Assignment Properties window, and allows you to add an assignment to the selected object, for the selected step.

Remove Assignment

If one is selected, remove the selected assignment. If no assignments are selected, all assignments are removed from the step.

Properties

Opens the Step Properties window, and allows you to modify the selected step properties.

Combine Steps

Combines multiple steps into a single step
