Drawing Tools
The Drawing tools enable you to create and edit drawings and markups.
Using these tools, you can do the following:
-
Create line and shape markups.
-
Hide markups and modify the scene colors
-
Modify markup settings for each markup type
-
Hide and show markups
-
Delete markups
-
Mark up raster files
-
Create detail views to highlight a particular portion of a model
-
Create cutaway views to expose a particular portion of a model.
-
Apply different colors to adjacent objects for easy identification.
You can move, rotate, and scale markups using the 3D Editor toolbar, and they can also be edited individually.
Certain rules apply to drawings and markups:
-
Markups and drawings are objects, and as such are displayed in the 3D Objects list when they’re created. They’re displayed separately in a 2D layer.
-
Using the 3D Objects list, you can select, hide, and show markups and drawings, group, merge, and collapse their hierarchies, and delete markups in the same way as other objects.
-
For markups to be displayed on an image or model, the Show Markups option must be selected on the Scene Settings menu. The Scene Settings menu is accessed from the Navigation toolbar.
-
Any changes you make to the markup settings are applied to all markups that are later created. They’re also applied to all existing markups unless they are, or have been edited individually.
-
Model views, based on the current view of the scene, are created or updated every time a markup is added to a scene. The results depend on whether existing model views exist, or whether the scene has been transformed:
-
If there are no existing model views, a new model view is created that incorporates the new markup.
-
If the scene hasn’t been transformed, the existing model view incorporates the new markup. Note that you must update the model view to see the changes.
-
If the scene has been transformed, a new model view is created that incorporates the new markup.
