Creating a Process Route
Prerequisites
The process route is based on SAP Business Workflow. You must therefore have carried out Workflow Basic Customizing. For more information, see SAP Note 527668.
Procedure
-
To maintain the header data for the process route, choose Process Route and
. The dialog box Header Data for Process Route is displayed. For an explanation of the individual fields, use the field help. To confirm your entries, choose
. -
Add process route items. You have the following options:
-
Add sequentially: The process route item is added after the item on which the cursor is currently placed. At runtime, the work item is sent when the processor of the previous process route item has finished processing their work item. -
Add in Parallel: The process route item is inserted parallel to the process route item on which your cursor is currently positioned. At runtime, the employees who have been assigned in parallel all receive a work item at the same time when the processor of the previous process route item has completed their work item.
-
-
When you choose
Insert Sequentially or
Insert in Parallel, the dialog box Add Process Route Item is displayed. In the upper screen area, the details are displayed for the preceding process route item, that is, the item on which your cursor is currently positioned. In the lower screen area, you can determine the properties of the new process route item. For an explanation of the individual fields, use the field help. Choose
. The new process route item is displayed in the overview tree.
Load Process Route Model: This is not relevant for Case Management. -
When you have inserted all the process route items, choose
to check your process route. -
To start the process route, you have to change the value of the Status attribute in the header data area. In Customizing, you have determined which status value must be set to start the process route (IMG activity Create Status Profile).
Example: In the demo case type, the process route is started when the status value In Processing is set. The process route is ended when the status value Completed is set.
-
To save the process route, choose
in the application toolbar above the header data. The whole case is saved.
Results
The processor of the first process route item receives a work item in their workflow inbox, which contains the processing of the case. When he or she executes the work item, the case is displayed. After the process route item has been processed, the next processor in the route receives a work item.
