General Nursing - Nursing Levels KA1, KA2, KA3

Each patient must be assigned to one of the three nursing levels once a day.

For the assignement to the nursing level acc. to KA2 at least one classification characteristic must apply in each of two service areas; if only one classification characteristic from KA2 applies and if a second applies from KA3, the patient should be assigned to nursing level KA2.

The classification characteristics must come from difference service areas.

If two classification characteristics from KA3 exist, the patient should be assigned to this nursing level.

Operationalization of Frequencies

The following applies to newborns:

An assignment is made to nursing level A2 if

  • services were performed more than four (4) times from the service area A22F, or

  • services were performed more than four (4) times from the service area A23F.

The following applies to infants:

An assignment is made to nursing level A2 if

  • services were performed more than three (3) times from the service area A22F, or

  • services were performed more than three (3) times from the service area A23F.

Special Nursing - Nursing Levels KS1, KS2, KS3
  • Each patient must be assigned to one of the three nursing levels once a day.

  • For the assignment to the nursing level KS2, at least one classification characteristic must apply.

  • An assignment acc. to KS3 is made if at least one classification characteristic from KS3 applies.

Operationalization of Frequencies

An assignment is made to nursing level S3 in pediatric nursing care if

  • services were performed more than two (2) times from the service area S232, or

  • services were performed more than eight (8) times from the service area S311, or

  • services were performed more than six (6) times from the service area S312.

An assignment is made to nursing level S2 in pediatric nursing care if

  • services were performed more than four (4) times from the service area S211, or

  • services were performed more than eight (4) times from the service area S311, or

  • services were performed more than four (4) times from the service area S312, or

  • services were performed more than three (3) times from the service area S212, or

  • services were performed more than three (3) times from the service areas S213 and S312.
