Warranty Indicator

Definition

In a service order or a maintenance order, this indicator determines whether the part or service to which the item relates is covered by a warranty contract.

Use

If the warranty indicator is selected, you cannot bill the customer for the replacement of the part or for rendering the service. You will have to recover the cost from the manufacturer through warranty processing.

Integration

When this indicator is selected, the system:

  • Creates a warranty claim for the service order item or the maintenance order item

  • Updates the warranty claim when you change the service order item or the maintenance order item
