Working With Dashboards

Dashboards contain various components, such as charts, graphs, and buttons, that are bound to data sources. These components display the data in a compact and visual manner, which then help you see trends and make informed business decisions. Dashboards are also referred to as models, and each model has components.

On a dashboard in the SAP BI application, you can perform a whole lot of actions.

How do I switch a dashboard to offline mode?

Once you have logged on to your BI server, navigate to the dashboard you want to be available offline and tap Add to My Home. The dashboard can now be viewed when the device has no connection, or has its wireless disabled.

Note If the dashboard contains a query, it must be run once in online mode to retrieve and cache query data.

How do I remove offline dashboards' query caches from the device?

Once you have logged on to your BI server, navigate to each dashboard that is saved locally, denoted by a home icon, and tap Remove from My Home.

The locally cached query data is removed.

How do I display the full contents of a table cell?

If the text in a cell in a List View or Scorecard is larger than the cell's width, tap and hold the cell to show the full text.

The text is displayed in a tooltip above the cell.

How do I display detailed values in chart components?

Briefly tap the relevant area of the chart to display detailed information. The information is displayed on the component itself or in a tool-tip above the area. The relevant area varies by component:
  • On Pie Charts, tap individual slices.
  • On Column and Waterfall Charts, tap individual columns or segments.
  • On Line Charts, tap individual points.
  • On Marimekko Charts, tap individual areas.

Pinch to zoom the scales of certain chart components, as illustrated below:
