Concepts
-
Dashboards Pages: Individual views that display a collection of visual elements called Dashboards Cards. You can customize dashboard pages by arranging different cards to highlight the most critical information, ensuring effective and efficient data visualization. You can adapt dashboard pages to various scenarios and share them among users for collaborative analysis and decision-making.
-
Dashboards Cards: Modular components within a dashboard page that visually represent specific data sets or metrics. Each card typically focuses on a particular aspect of the overall information being monitored, such as performance metrics, trends over time, alerts, or other key indicators. You can customize these cards in terms of content, size, and layout, to create tailored views that best meet your analytical needs. Dashboard cards are reusable and flexible to build dynamic and informative dashboards by combining various cards into dashboard pages.
-
Metrics: Quantifiable measures produced by the different monitoring apps in SAP Cloud ALM. It typically includes:
-
Performance metrics: response times for applications and services
-
System health metrics: CPU and memory utilization
-
Jobs status metrics: jobs execution errors
-
Business process metrics: success and failure rates of business processes
-
User activity metrics: number of active users.
-
Integration and interface metrics: message processing errors
-
Alert and notification metrics: number and types of alerts triggered
Refer to SAP Cloud ALM for Operations for more information on the metrics.
-
-
Dimensions: Dimensions of metrics refer to the various attributes or categories that help define, segment, and analyze data within metrics. Dimensions provide contextual information that allows these metrics to be analyzed in more meaningful ways. Typical dimensions produced by monitoring apps are, for example, service name, service type, requests type, exception category, messages type, and job category.
-
Dashboards Scope: Dashboard pages are visualized in a specific context related to scope selection, rolling time frame, and resolution.
-
Scope Selection: Specifies which systems and services are covered by the dashboard.
-
Rolling Time Frame: Refers to a continuously updating period in which data is displayed. Unlike a static time frame, which is fixed, a rolling time frame shifts as time progresses. For example, if a rolling time frame is set to last 30 days, data for the recent 30 days is considered, updating dynamically to incorporate new data and remove the oldest data as time moves forward. This approach ensures that dashboards are consistently displaying the most recent and relevant data.
-
Resolution: Resolution refers to the granularity of the displayed data for the designated time frame. It determines how data points are aggregated and presented.
-
-
Dashboards Access: Dashboard pages can be designated as private for individual users or public to be shared with others.
