Overview of BI Administration Console

BI Administration Console provides administrators of the Business Intelligence (BI) platform with a framework to automate their repetitive BI tasks to eliminate the risk of task failure due to human errors.

BI Administration Console has two primary aspects:
  • Landscape Management
  • Automation Framework
Note BI Administration Console, 4.2 SP5 is only available in English. It may be extended to include other languages in future support packages.
About Landscape Management

Landscape Management provides you with an overall status of your BI server machines, and allows you to manage them remotely and centrally. To access BI platform server machines and avail the capabilities of the Automation Framework, you must be registered to a landscape with valid user credentials and authentication.

About the Automation Framework

Automation Framework provides you with the capability to create reusable components (workflows) for your repetetive BI tasks.

Example Consider that you need to perform the following BI tasks in a sequence:
  1. Log on to the BI platform.
  2. Change the source of certain BI documents from .unx to .unv.
  3. Refresh the BI documents.
  4. Log out of the BI platform.

With the help of Automation Framework, you don't need to perform the above tasks manually. You can create a workflow that combines all the above tasks (with specific input data) and then, use these workflows to create a scenario which can be executed to generate the results.
