Simplified Configuration of Integration with SAP Digital Manufacturing
The settings for cloud integration have been simplified with Production Connector release 1.1:
-
The Internal Communication with Main Service tab page in the Cloud Integration area has been removed.
In some scenarios, cloud services are called internally in the Production Connector, for example, in the notification scenario, if the response of a Web service called in SAP Digital Manufacturing is to be written back to the data source for which the query Web service is called internally. For transport security and for authentication in this internal communication between the agent instance and the cloud services, only the special user pco_integration_user and its related certificate are now used. You set up the user pco_integration_user and its certificate in the Configure Production Connectivity app in SAP Digital Manufacturing by generating the internal Production Connector certificate there as an administrator. The certificate that was previously to be maintained on the Internal Communication with Main Service tab page is now obsolete.
-
On the Server Security Settings tab, the authentication settings that were previously displayed as inactive have been removed. The authentication modes JSON Web Token and Certificate are predefined. This means that the authentication of the cloud service calls can take place using JSON Web Tokens (JWT), which are forwarded by the Cloud Connector and which contain information about the calling user and the assigned user groups. The authentication mode Certificate enables internal communication between the agent instance and the cloud services mentioned above.
-
In addition, the Export Server Certificate function has been added to the Server Security Settings tab.
You can now export the public part of the server certificate. To establish secure communication between the Production Connector and the Cloud Connector, you need to upload this public part of the server certificate to the Trust Store of the Cloud Connector. If you establish a trust relationship to the Production Connector when configuring the Cloud Connector, you can simply upload the exported certificate file. For more information, see the Operations Guide under .
As of Cloud Connector version 2.15, the server certificate must be uploaded to the trust store. Previously, the certificate had to be found using the certificate manager of the operating system and exported from there.
-
The Basic Settings tab has been renamed Port Settings.
