  • Definition of application objects

    In a report template, symbols of the Material Master report application are used. Once you have assigned the report template to generation variant SBGV_01, the SAP system automatically assigns report application Material Master to generation variant SBGV_01.

    If you do not specify any further object key, this generation variant applies for all materials of the material master. However, you can restrict usage of the generation variant to any number of materials, for example, to material MAT_01.

    In addition, you enter, for example, report application Work Area with object key PRESSE.

  • Search in report information system

    If you then enter material MAT_01 and MAT_03 as search criteria in the report information system, generation variant SBGV_01 and the associated report is found for material MAT_01. For MAT_01 and MAT_03, the system also finds all other generation variants that are assigned to report application Material Master but not to a specific object key.

    The SAP system selects the report for generation variant SBGV_01 in the same way if you enter work area PRESSE as the search criterion.

    Note Note

    In the search, the SAP system only takes account of the search criteria of the currently selected report application.
