Restrictions

Use

You use this function to assign rating and validity area combinations to specification header data. These combinations supplement the authorization groups. This means that you can further restrict the authorization for a specification; for example, to specific validity areas. You can specify more than one combination of rating and validity area.

Example Example

A specification belongs to authorization group ALL; rating PUBLIC and validity areaDE are assigned as the restriction. If you have change authorization for ALL and PUBLIC/DE, you can edit the header data. If you only have display authorization for PUBPLIC/DE, you can only display the header data even if you have change authorization for the authorization group ALL.

End of the example.

Note Note

  • The functional significance of these restrictions is different to that of Usage, which you use to control the output of identifiers and value assignment instances on reports.

  • You can make a default setting for specification restrictions by specifying a Usage Profile for your user in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools under Specify Value Assignment Types for value assignment type Specification Header (ESTRH) .

  • You use the authorization object C_SHES_TVH (Value assignment type field with value ESTRH) to assign the authorization for editing header data for a particular combination of rating and validity area.

  • You use the authorization object C_SHES_TDU to assign the authorization for editing the usage.

End of the note.
