Basic Settings

To be able to create inspection plans using data from specification management , the following prerequisites must be fulfilled:

  1. Settings in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools

    • Under Specify Environment Parameters specify the relevant values for the environment parameters.

The following environment parameters exist for the EH&S-QM interface:

      • EHQMEP_CONTROLKEY: Control key for operation

      • EHQMEP_DESCROPR: Description for operation

      • EHQMEP_LANGU: Language for description of inspection characteristics

      • EHQMEP_NOTOKCODE: Not-OK code

      • EHQMEP_PROFILE: Profile with default values

    • Under Specify Validity Area Categories , make sure that the table name T001W and the field name WERKS are specified for the validity area category PLANT.

    • Under Specify Validity Areas , create the required validity areas of the category PLANT.

    • Under Specify Ratings , create the required ratings and set the relevancy indicator for creation of a QM inspection plan.

  2. Other Settings

    • ¡Under Start of the navigation path Tools Next navigation step ABAPWorkbench Next navigation step Development Next navigation step Other Tools Next navigation step Number Ranges End of the navigation path (transaction SNRO), edit the number range intervals for creating codes, code groups, and selected sets.

The following number range intervals exist:

      • EHQMN_CODE (number range interval for codes)

      • EHQMN_GRP (number range interval for code groups)

      • EHQMN_SLST (number range interval for selected sets)

    Recommendation Recommendation

We recommend that you use the customer exit EHQM0901 to generate your own keys that contain letters, for example, making them easier to recognize. You also have the option of using the specified number range intervals as a counter for the objects in the customer exit. For more information, see the documentation on the customer exit.

    • In Customizing for Basic Data and Tools under Specify Types of Characteristics you have the option of adding your own types of characteristics.

    • In the mapping table specify the value assignment types with information relevant for inspection plans so the system can use this data to create the inspection characteristics. To do this, proceed as described under Editing Data Relevant for Inspection Plans .

    End of the recommendation.
  3. Prerequisites in Basic Data and Tools

    • You have created specifications and the relevant data according to your requirements in specification management .

    • You have assigned corresponding materials to the specifications.

    • Under Usage you have specified the appropriate rating and the validity area. Under Validity area enter values of the category PLANT to distinguish between validity areas for inspection plans and other validity areas. Set the usage to Active .

    • In the phrase management header data you have assigned an inspection method to the relevant phrases so that the method can be recognized when inspection plans are created. You also have the option of specifying the inspection method directly from Quality Management in specification management (see Processing of Methods ).

  4. Prerequisites in Quality Management

    • You have created the relevant master inspection characteristics if you want to use them. These master inspection characteristics must have the status Released .

They should also be in the form of Incomplete copy model or Complete copy model as they are unlocked by the interface as Reference characteristics .

    • You have created the relevant inspection methods. These inspection methods must have the status Released .

  5. Prerequisites in Materials Management

In the material master for the relevant materials you have created the Quality Management view for the plant for which the inspection plan is to be created.

  6. Authorizations

    • To create inspection plans you need authorization to be able to create inspection plans in Quality Management .

    • To edit the required basic settings you need authorization to be able to edit the specification data in Basic Data and Tools .

Result

When you have made all settings and fulfilled all the above prerequisites, you can create inspection plans using data from specification management (see Creation of Specification-Relevant Inspection Plans ).
