Editing the Generation Variant Header
Prerequisites
You have created the report template you want to assign to the generation variant.

You want to create the variant header.
In the Basic Data and Tools menu, choose
Report Definition
Edit Generation Variants
with the quick info text Create
.From the generation variant hit list, choose
with the quick info text Create
.You want to edit the variant header.
From the hit list, the description, or the rating, choose
with the quick info text Header
.The generation variant header appears.
Enter the required data in the generation variant header. Note the following points:
Generation variant
Enter a key for your generation variant when you create it.
Validity area
Enter the leading validity area for the generation variant.
NoteYou can define further specific validity areas by choosing
Rating/Validity
.End of the note.Report category
Enter the report category to be used for the report template that you assign to this generation variant.
Template/version
Enter the key and the version of the report template to be assigned to the generation variant.
Controlling Report Management
You use the indicators and the initial status to control which statuses reports must pass through in report management.

Display Options
Date format
Select the date format you want to use to display dates on the assigned report.
Decimal display
Select the decimal format you want to use to display decimal numbers on the assigned report.
CautionDo not change a generation variant after you have used it to generate reports.
End of the caution.Confirm and save your entries.
Result
The SAP system completes the administration data.
You can now edit the descriptions, the rating and validity, or application objects.
