WWI Settings

Settings

In Customizing for Basic Data and Tools, the default settings are defined in the IMG activity Specify Environment Parameters. When you edit a document template, you can open the WWI Settings dialog box and transfer these default settings using the Load Default function. If required, you can save your own settings as defaults in the WWI Settings dialog box and overwrite the settings in the IMG activity with them. The settings saved in this way are valid globally unless you assign different settings to the current document template using the Save function.

Note Note

Only change the WWI settings using the WWI Settings dialog box and not in the IMG activity Specify Environment Parameters.

End of the note.

You can make the following WWI settings:

General WWI Settings:
  • Display names

    Depending on the symbol type, you can specify that the symbols are to be inserted in the document template with their names and the control letter D. If you hide the hidden characters, the name remains visible in the document template and the document template is easy to read.

    • Example Example

      Symbol type Descriptor

      Display with name and with hidden characters:

      <03EHS_L_TEXT(CED-EHSWA_CAT001)[D:Europäischer Abfallkatalog]>

      Display with name and without hidden characters:

      Europäischer Abfallkatalog

      End of the example.
    • Example Example

      Symbol type Specification

      Display with name and with hidden characters:

      <01G1013008VA(P)[D:Farbe]>

      Note: If you hide the hidden characters, the name remains visible in the document template: Farbe

      Symbol type Specification without name and with hidden characters:

      <01G1013008VA(P)>

      End of the example.
  • Color settings for symbols and control objects

    You specify the color in which symbols and control objects are displayed in the document template, depending on their type.

    If you only want to use the color in the document template, set the Indicate Objects in Template Using Colors indicator. If you do not set the indicator, the color is transferred to the generated data values.

    If you want to use a color other than black only for a few data values on the generated report, set the Indicate Objects in Template Using Colors indicator, define the required color in your own Microsoft Word style, and assign this style to the symbol.

  • Settings for descriptors

    For symbols of the type Descriptor, you can enter a default value for the symbol key, phrase library, and phrase group. You can overwrite the default values when editing the respective symbol.

Wizard Settings

For the WWI Wizard, you can define the following default settings:

  • For tables, headers, and data lines to be inserted

  • For the styles of headers and symbols of type Specification, Parameter, and Descriptor

The styles are derived from Microsoft Word. As the default, the system uses Microsoft Word styles that were modified or assigned to a document in Microsoft Word and new styles that were created for a document. You can overwrite the default values for the styles in the WWI Wizard.

Preview Settings

For the preview, you can specify a generation variant and a specification as default values. You can overwrite the default values when starting the preview of a report template.
