Report Template Export
Use
This function works in conjunction with report template import to enable you exchange report templates between different SAP systems. You can also exchange report templates if the SAP systems were set up separately and their symbol keys defined differently.
Prerequisites
You must ensure that:
The Word formatting is identical in the source and target systems
The methods that can be defined for symbols are present in the target system

Features
When exporting report templates, you can use the following functions:
File Check
Before export, the SAP system checks whether the transfer file can be opened on the application server. If the file already exists, you can:
Overwrite the transfer file
Rename the file
Data Transfer
Data is exported in the background. The SAP system:
Generates an export log containing information about errors that occurred
Generates the following files in the transfer directory on the application server:
A *.DAT file containing the descriptions and symbols
A *.DOC file containing the layout of the report template
The SAP system enters the following data in the *.DAT file:
Data origin
Export date
Key and description for report template
Key and description for symbols
