An Overview of the Batch Input Process

The graphic below shows an overview of the batch input process.

Batch Input

  1. 1.      If necessary, the data from the external source needs to be transferred to a sequential data file.
  2. 2.      The batch input program reads the sequential file and creates the batch input session.

    Within this step, you can specify the user that will later execute the batch input session.

  3. 3.      The batch input session is placed in a queue to be processed by the SAP System.
  4. 4.      The batch input session is processed in the SAP System. Sessions are typically set up to be processed automatically, but may also be processed manually.
