Filter for Long Text Logging
Use
You have activated long text logging in your system. The changes to long texts cause a high data load. A large proportion of the changes are not needed. Unwanted long text logs are therefore deleted at regular intervals.
You can use the filter for long text logging to exclude a series of long texts from logging. This reduces the data load and improves the runtime for the deletion of long text logs.
Features
With the filter function for long text logging, you can define in advance whether changes are to be logged for a series of long texts. The system then decides at the time a long text is changed whether this change needs to be logged. This reduces the data load and improves the runtime for deletion of unwanted long text logs.
For performance reasons, the filter function is only defined at text object level. Because long texts are only uniquely determined by the text object and text ID, you must nevertheless delete long texts regularly. The deletion of long texts can only be dispensed with if you have set a deletion flag for complete text groups in the transaction S_AUT04.
In the transaction Configuration of Long Text Logs (S_AUT04), you define which text objects you want to write to the filter table. If the filter table is empty, all long texts are logged. You can re-empty the filter table by choosing .
Report S_AUT_DEL contains the Take Account of Filter Table checkbox. If you have checked this box, only those long texts whose text object is included in the filter table are taken into account for the deletion of the long text logs. According to the configuration, logs for other text objects cannot exist and therefore do not need to be deleted.
