Creating a Netting DocumentWhen a netting document is created, the system selects the FI documents that are still open (using the selection conditions in the netting selection criteria). Those FI documents are then defaulted for netting. The system creates a netting document, which contains:
The netting blocking indicator
The documents which are to be included in netting
The item created by the offset
Choose .
On the initial screen, enter the exchange partner, the company code, and the netting blocking indicator (netting criteria).
Begin the selection by choosing .
The system now searches for open items in the selection criteria of the netting cycles.
After you are finished with the selection, the system displays the screen with the results of that search.
The sum of the payables, receivables, and the difference between the two amounts is displayed here. The receivables always appear in green, the payables always appear in red.
The amounts selected are listed in a table and will be all selected.
In the
Z
column, a note is made by the system as to whether this is related to receivables (
R)
or to payables(
P)
.
Column B will be selected when the corresponding document is already in another netting document. Otherwise, the field is empty.
In addition, the system lists the billed amount, the currency, and the posting date.
If you do not want specific documents to be used for netting, you have to de-select them and re-calculate the difference between receivables and payables by choosing .
After you have taken the steps listed above, there are two options for saving the netting document:
Without batch-input:
To do that, choose .
The system automatically assigns a document number, under which the data of the netting document is saved. When you save it in that way, there is no data transfer, the accounts have thus not been offset, and no differences are posted.
With batch-input:
To do this, choose .
The system produces a message that a netting document and a batch input job was created.
It is also possible to create the netting document without batch input and to save it subsequently. To do that, choose You could choose that, for example, if you want to print the netting document, check it and change it - after having conferred with your exchange partner.
Depending on the system setting:
The batch-input session may be started in non-interactive mode, whereby a background job in regular intervals starts sessions that have not yet been carried out.
You may have to manually start the batch-input session in order to begin the data transfer. Only when the batch-input session is run does the system clear the accounts and post the differences.
