Store Installation on Windows - Users and Folders

This chapter describes how to secure GK installations on Windows systems.

There are two types of application:

• Applications which run as standalone applications and, usually, these applications have Windows Service.
• Applications which run in the application server (Tomcat) and these applications do not have Windows Service.

For standalone applications and for Tomcat

We recommend using the users, folder and installation as described below.

Best Practice

For all store applications, you will use c:\gkretail\ as the GK/Retail home folder and the installation will be performed with the users described in the chapters below.
