Working with Change NumbersYou use change numbers to create or change data records if the data record is not to be valid for the entire system period.
If you do not use change numbers, the validity period of created dangerous goods master records stretches from 01/01/0001 to 12/31/9999.
If you use change numbers, you can do the following:
Create dangerous goods master records for a key date
Perform a data record split for existing dangerous goods master records on a key date
When splitting a dangerous goods master record, associated packaging data records are not automatically also split. However, you can split packaging data records separately using the same or a different change number.
If you enter a change number as a selection criterion for selecting dangerous goods master records, the system selects the following:
In the Change Dangerous Goods Master
mode, dangerous goods master records that are valid on the key date of the change number.

Dangerous goods master records valid on the key date
In the Display Dangerous Goods Master
mode, dangerous goods master records that were created for the change number.

Dangerous goods master records created for the change number
Note
For a dangerous goods master record, those packaging data records whose validity period overlaps the validity period of the dangerous goods master record are selected.
