You use this process to integrate the Business Context Viewer (BCV). In this way, you can make additional analytical and contextual information about a business object available to users in the side panel of the related application. You can use the sample business content provided for Plant Maintenance (PM) with the Business Package for Generic EAM Functions both to explore the features of BCV and as a template for creating your own content.

Prerequisites

  • You have activated business function FND, Business Context Viewer Main Application (/BCV/MAIN).

  • BCV is licensed as part of the SAP Collaborative Product Development license. You need this license in order to use BCV content with this business package.

  • To configure BCV content and then access content in the side panel in run time, the following worksets must be assigned to your user role:

    • EAM BCV Administrator (com.sap.pct.bs_fnd.BCV_BCV)

    • EAM BCV User (com.sap.pct.bs_fnd.BCV_BCV_0)

Process

You test the delivered business content by activating the corresponding Business Configuration (BC) set. You can subsequently use this content as the template for creating your own content.
