Creating Customer-Specific Help Links

Prerequisites

  • You have written your own content and stored it in SAP KW.

  • The content is assigned to structures and all Info Objects have the status Released.

  • You have created an RFC destination in SM59 of the SAP KW system between the SAP KW and the application system in which the help links are to be defined. The stored user must have authorizations to create transport requests and to add entries.

Context

You want to call customer-defined documents directly from the application system by choosing Start of the navigation pathHelp  Next navigation step  Application HelpEnd of the navigation path.

In the application systems, you need to store information about the transaction or program the info object is to be called up for as documentation.

Procedure

  1. Call transaction SI24 and choose the activity Start of the navigation pathSettings in the Knowledge Warehouse System Next navigation step  Development of Info Objects Next navigation step Maintain Help Links Next navigation step For Systems as of Release 4.0A (RFC Link)End of the navigation path.
  2. Choose New Entries and make entries in the following fields:

    Field

    Meaning

    SAP System ID

Name of application system (appears in the selection list of all defined application systems when creating help links)

    Destination

You can use the input help here to select the RFC destination for the application system.

    System Type

You can choose between application/basis/additional system here.

    Inactive

    This usually remains empty.

If you need to, you can select this field to deactivate this connection.

This would mean that no new help links to this system can be created. Existing help links are not affected.

Results

In the SAP GUI structure preview under the customer context you can now create context-sensitive help links using the pushbutton Help Link.
