Activating Content Server Service

Use

The service /sap/bc/contentserver implements the SAP HTTP content server interface.

Procedure

To activate the content server service, proceed as follows:

  1. Log on to the SAP KW system using SAP GUI.

  2. Execute transaction SICF.

  3. In the Filter for Calling ICF Hierarchy section, select SERVICE as the hierarchy type and choose Execute.

  4. Expand the tree under Start of the navigation pathVirt.Hosts / Services: default_host Next navigation step sap  Next navigation step  bcEnd of the navigation path.

  5. Double-click the service contentserver.

    The input template Create/Change a Service is displayed.

  6. Choose the Logon Data tab page, and enter a user (and password) of the type Service / System (<> Dialog).

  7. Save your changes.

  8. Activate the contentserver service by selecting the service in the list of services and choosing Start of the navigation pathServer/Host Next navigation step ActivateEnd of the navigation path from the menu.

    If the service was already activated, and only no user was entered, deactivate the service first, before you activate it again.

Result

The activated content server service is now displayed in black in the list.
