Structure Links and Hyperlinks

Use

SAP Knowledge Warehouse structures content in two ways:

  • A structure hierarchically defines a set of information objects and gives users an overview of the contents available.

Links in structures (structure links) can refer to content objects or to other structures.

There are two ways to link to another structure, either with a structure link or a structure include. In contrast to normal structure links, for included structures there is no structure change in the Web Browser when the user navigates to this substructure.

  • A hyperlink can represent a relationship between two content objects and can provide paths through the available contents for users.

In the standard data model, the hyperlinks contained in content objects always refer to other content objects, but not to structures.

Both, hyperlinks and structure links, refer to logical info objects. The context parameters control which version of such a logical link to a physical link is used. The user of SAP Knowledge Warehouse sets these context parameters, which are then analyzed when the info objects are displayed.

Activities

You create and delete structure links (references/includes) by editing structures.

You create a hyperlink by inserting it into the particular content object being edited and remove it by deleting the hotspot from the content object.
