Info Object Classes in the QM Manuals Area

Definition

The following info object classes can be used for creating manuals, in particular Quality Management manuals:

Structure (QM_STR)

Structures are used to combine content objects into a hierarchically organized table of contents in which the user can navigate. They are displayed in the browser in the navigation area on the left side. Structures are not language-specific.
Text (QM_DOC)

The source format (editing format) for text is Microsoft Word (DOC). The presentation format is HTML. The contents of texts are categorized with the Content Type attribute.

Note

To categorize the contents of Word objects, you must create the appropriate content templates.
Visio graphics (QM_VSD)

Visio graphics are content objects used to display processes, for example. The source format (editing format) for visio graphics is Microsoft Visio (VSD). The presentation format is HTML. The contents of Visio graphics are categorized with the Content Type attribute.

To categorize the contents of Visio objects, you must create the appropriate content templates.
Slide (QM_PPT)

The source format (editing format) for slides is Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT). The presentation format is HTML. The contents of a slide are categorized with the Content Type attribute.

Multimedia object (QM_GEN)

Multimedia objects are also content objects. They have the same properties as the multimedia objects of other areas: They can be created and edited with any Microsoft Windows application whose file format is registered as a valid format for this object class in SAP KW. The source and presentation format of multimedia objects is the same. How multimedia objects are displayed depends on the MIME type of the application, the browser configuration, and the local installation of the application.
