Info Object Classes in the HTML-Based Documents Area

Definition

The following info object classes can be used for creating HTML-based contents:

  • Structure (KWN_STRUCT)

As in the other areas, structures are used to combine content objects into a hierarchically organized table of contents in which the user can navigate. They appear in the browser on the left side of the navigation section. Structures are not language-specific.

  • Directory (KWN_DIR)

Directories are a special type of structure. They have only one hierarchy level below the root object. In contrast to the objects of class KWN_STRUCT, directories are not displayed on the left-hand side of the navigation part, but on the right side of the content part.

  • HTML (KWN_HTML)

HTML objects are the most frequently used content objects in the HTML-Based Documents area. The editing format and presentation format are the same for this info object class. The contents of HTML objects are categorized with the Content type attribute.

  • Multimedia object (KWN_GEN)

Multimedia objects are also content objects. They have the same properties as the multimedia objects of other areas: They can be created and edited with any Microsoft Windows application whose file format is registered as a valid format for this object class in SAP KW. The source and presentation format of multimedia objects is the same. Depending on the MIME type of the application, the browser configuration, and the local installation of the application, multimedia objects are displayed either in the frame for content objects or by the application in a separate window.
