Detailed Context List

Use

The detailed context list gives you an overview of the versions of an info object that exist in the context hierarchy or in the different languages.

Prerequisites

The relevant option must have been selected in the IWBSETTING table by the system administrator in order to be able to display the detailed context list:

Start transaction SE16.
Enter the table name IWBSETTING in the entry field.
Choose the Create Entries (F5) button.

In the view IWB: Change Settings (valid versions, etc.): Overview, choose the menu option Edit New Entries (F5).

Add the value for the following parameter using F4 help.

Save the table and exit transaction SE16.

Procedure

The next time you call the Info Object List of a selected folder, the Detailed Context List button is displayed in the function toolbar.

In the Info Object List select an Info Object and choose the Detailed Context List button.
On the next screen you see the latest version for each context and language that the object was edited in. You can see at a glance whether the info object has been changed and in which contexts or if translations already exist and in which languages. If an object was deleted in a context, then this is also shown in the detailed context list.

Caution

A new, separate version of the info object (the PHIO) is created every time changes to an info object are saved in a previously unchanged context.

This is important since changes to an info object always apply for exactly one version only. Changes that are saved at a later point in time in a lower context (and therefore in another version) are not propagated to this new version.
