Creating Entry Structures for Navigating with Contents
Purpose
To facilitate browsing access to the many folders in the SAP Knowledge Warehouse you can create entry structures. An entry structure imposes a hierarchical structure on a set of folders thus creating a content hierarchy. By creating several entry structures you can provide content hierarchies which suit the needs of different user groups.
In contrast to the structures used, for example, in the areas Training and Documentation, entry structures do not structure content, they structure access to content. Hence, the entry structures are in the Administration area.
Prerequisites
You have the authorization to create and edit info objects in the Management area (IWBMISC).
Process
-
You are in the initial screen of the SAP Knowledge Warehouse and have selected the Administration area.
-
You set the version context in which you want to create the entry structure.
-
You select the folder in which you want to keep the entry structure (or you create a new folder).
-
You display the Info Object List of the folder.
-
You create an info object of Info Object Class Navigation Structure. This comprises creating an info object of Info Object Class Topic or Multimedia Object as the root node of the structure.
-
You build a hierarchy by inserting nodes either of Info Object Class Topic or Multimedia Object into the structure.
-
You append folders to the hierarchy nodes of the structure. These folders can be from different areas of the SAP Knowledge Warehouse.
-
You save the structure and set its status to Released.
