Connecting Classes

Use

So far, the classes you have created exist completely independently of each other. In other words, although they are part of the same content model, they are not yet using the document management functions that the DMWB provides. Therefore, the next step now is to create relationships between the individual classes. To do this, you need to create a connection space.

Procedure

  • Create a new entity Class Connection Space in the folder Connection Spaces of your document area (context menu Start of the navigation pathCreate Next navigation step Class Connection SpaceEnd of the navigation path).

  • Switch to the Connections view.

  • Similarly to the process for LOIO Classes, make the object directory entry in the next dialog box.

A three-column table is displayed.

  • Click in the first row of the first column, and choose the created PHIO class from the Insert Class selection window that appears.

  • To do this, double-click in the empty field in the column Relationship class and select a relationship class from the list that appears.

  • Click in the empty field in the column Target Class. Choose Insert Class and select a target class from the list that appears.

  • Activate the new connection space.

Result

Now that you have set up and activated this connection space, you have created a simple content model in the DMWB. You can now extend this document area as required, and create new document areas.
