Selecting the SAP KW Front-End Components

Use

For display only of KW content in the browser using IKS, no additional activities/installations are required on the front end. However, if you want to edit or translate content in SAP KW, further front-end components need to be installed and configured.

In the context of the SAP front-end installation, you can install the following SAP KW-specific front-end components (KW Add-On):

• KW Online Editing

  For the processing of info objects in SAP GUI for Windows. Example: Objects of Info Object Class text and topic.

• KW Translator (SAP KW Translator)

  Required if the content stored in SAP KW is to be translated.

  SAP recommends using translation packages of type SAP KW Translator (without Trados) for all file formats.

• KW HTML Editor

  Only required if info objects of class HTML are to be created or edited in the HTML-Based Documents area.
