BSEG – Accounting Document Segment
BSEG is a standard SAP Cluster table which is used to store Accounting Document Segment data. It is available within SAP systems depending on the version and release level, and is usually a part of CRM modules in SAP. This table in the sample content demonstrates how gains or losses from foreign currency exchange are calculated. The difference resulting from currency conversion between the invoice date and payment date represents the costs or incomes that the company should consider during transfer pricing calculation. The clearing date and currency of the supplier is also stored in a series of fields that specify the traceability of every purchasing invoice.
The function defines the following fields:

Posting Key: You use this field to specify the flag for distinguishing whether the transaction is from an Accounts Payable or from an Accounts Receivable.

Company Code: This field represents a specific company whose financial data are taken into consideration. You use this field to specify different values as the calculation is usually executed at controlling area level, which spans multiple companies and legal entities.

Number of Line Item Within Accounting Document: This numerical field shows the number that each line item has in an accounting document.

Amount in Document Currency: You use this field to specify the amount of a line item in document currency. You can specify the amount during a document entry.

Fiscal Year: You use this field to specify the year for accounting purposes.

Currency for Automatic Payment: You use this field to specify the currency used in automatic payments. Automatic payments can be written in the foreign (transaction) currency of a voucher or in an alternate currency different from the domestic or foreign currency of the voucher.

Account Type: You use this field to specify the type of an account. Usually, account types can include materials, General Ledger, assets, debtors (customers) or creditors (vendors).

Client: You use this field to specify an SAP system client that serves as a mandatory input for the execution of the conversion function.

Baseline Date for Due Date Calculation: You use this field to specify the date from which the system can calculate the periods stated in the terms of payment.

Sales Document: You use this field to specify the number of a document that describes business transactions that are represented in the system for the sale of advertising services.

Sales Document Item: You use this field to specify an element of a sales document that contains item type-specific information.

Material Number: You use this field to specify a unique identifier for materials.

Clearing Date: You use this field to specify the date on which a payment was made based on the Clearing Document.

Document Number of Clearing Document: You use this field to specify the number of the process in SAP FI Module to clear open transactions.

Company ID of Trading Partner: You use this field to specify the Company ID standard for the whole group. When you post to this account, the company ID is transferred to the line item so that the elimination functions can be carried out within consolidation.

Amount for Updating General Ledger: You use this field to specify a monetary value to update the transaction figures in General Ledger accounts in the General Ledger.

Update Currency for General Ledger Transaction Figures: You use this field to specify a currency used to update the transaction figures in General Ledger accounts in the General Ledger, which can be in local currency or transaction currency.
