Customer and Channel Positions

This Model Table function is used to provide periodic customer and channel positions from the relevant operational source systems.

It defines the following fields:

  • Version: If you connect a real general ledger, you use this field to enter a fixed value. There is no variance because a general ledger provides only real data. You can use this field if versioned data is provided along with real general ledger data.

  • Posting Date: You use this field to provide GL totals on a yearly, quarterly, monthly, or even daily basis to run the profitability and cost management process.

  • Product and Service: You use this field to define the product or service.

  • Sales Channel: You use this field to specify the distribution channel, such as wholesale or retail, and so on.

  • Customer ID: You use this field to specify the ID to identify the customer in that position.

  • Quantity: You use this field to define the quantity of products and services that the customer received via the given channel on the posting date.

  • Unit: You use this field to define the quantity unit (for example, pieces).

  • Region: You use this field to specify the geographical region (for example, US, Canada, China, Australia or European countries/regions).
