Emission Factors for Materials
This Model Table represents carbon emission factors for different types of materials. It provides a factor which specifies the number of kilograms of CO2 equivalents emitted during manufacturing of one unit of a material or during waste treatment of one unit of material.
The function defines the following fields:
-
Material Number: You use this field to specify a unique identifier for materials.
-
Data Year: You use this field to specify the year of the data entry.
-
Source of Input: You use this field to specify the source of the database.
-
Vendor: You use this field to specify a unique identifier for suppliers.
-
Material Unit of Measure: You use this field as the unit to measure the material quantity.
-
Company Code: You use this field to specify the company which financial data is taken into consideration.
-
Plant: You use this field to specify the production plant.
-
Location/Address of Business Partner: You use this field to specify a code for the address of the business partner, for example, a vendor or a customer.
-
Country/Region of Business Partner: You use this field to specify the alpha-2 country code of the country/region where the business partner is located.
-
Industry: You use this field to specify the economic industry of the business partner. In this sample content, the NACE industry codes are used since they are used for the input-output analysis to calculate the upstream and downstream impact. It is also possible to use other, individual industry codes. However, in such cases, an additional mapping to the NACE industry codes is required for the input-output analysis.
-
Emission Factor: You use this field to specify a factor to quantify the intensity of an emission.
-
Unit of Emission Factor: You use this field to specify the corresponding unit to the emission factor.
