Reporting

In this section, you define additional query functions to enable execution users to conveniently review calculation results.

Once the calculation has been run, the following review and reporting activities can be executed:

Review Results

This Query function provides the most important business dimensions that can be used to drill-down the results received as an output from the Join All Results function, either profits, quantities, or unit costs.

Profit and Loss Statement per Product

This Query function is used to demonstrate breakdown for the Profit and Loss statement per company and product and is available for any further analysis with other dimensions.

Variance Analysis of Purchase Prices

This Query function shows the difference between actual and planned behavior of the products and services, resources, and compares the difference with planned results. If you want to have a look at quantity variances or unit cost variances, the display settings for those rules should be switched to “Always Show” instead of “Always Hide”.

Net Profit Margin per Company [%]

This Query function is used to provide an insight into the Net Profit Margin for each company.

Total Costs per Product and Service

This Query function shows total unit costs per product. All relevant costs are split by total amount of quantity.

Profit Results per Company Baseline Scenario

This Query function is used to provide an insight into the profit results per company and it is used as the baseline scenario.

Profit Results per Company Simulation

This Query function is used to provide an insight into the profit results per company and it is used for simulation purposes.

Profitability Breakdown by Company

This Query function is used to provide an insight into profitability breakdown by company.

PBT, Tax Expense and PAT by Company

This Query function is used to provide an insight into Tax results for each company.

Track Sold Quantities to 3rd Parties

This Query function is used to provide an insight into products and quantities sold to 3rd parties.

Manufacturing Costs by Product

This Query function is used to provide an insight into the manufacturing costs by product.

Alternative Supplier for Product

This Query function is used to provide an insight into profitability when buying resources from alternative suppliers.

Review Product Profitability Alternative Resources

This Query function is used to provide an insight into profitability when using alternative resources.

The suggested report view for this query is “100% Stacked Bar” on the Analyze screen. For presenting purposes, it is recommended to switch to the suggested report view.
Unit Cost per Product

This Query function shows the unit costs per product and service, with the possibility to select the specific product and service in the Variable settings of SAP Profitability and Performance Management, and to analyze them via different business dimensions which are available as free fields.

Procedure

Follow the steps below to see the available fields of the Query functions listed above:

Expand the Reporting node in the navigation structure on the left-hand side of the screen.
Choose the function that you want to open.
Choose the Sheet Definition tab on the right-hand side of the screen.
In the Columns and Rows sections, you can find all fields that are preconfigured for the selected report.
In the Free section, the system displays all free fields that are also available for this report.
