Combine All Emissions at Product Level

This Description function is used to mark the start of consolidating all the carbon emissions at product level and calculate carbon intensities of products.

It comprises the following functions:

Collate All Emissions

This Join function is used to consolidate all the carbon emissions from activities that have been allocated to products. Union of the following functions is done:
  • Allocate Raw Material Emissions to Products

  • Allocate Upstream Transportation Emissions to Products

  • Allocate Waste Treatment Emissions to Products

  • Allocate Facilities Emissions to Products

  • Allocate Vehicle Emissions to Products

  • Allocate Downstream Transportation Emissions to Products

  • Emissions from Work Centers Using IoT Data

The Model Table Corporate Master Data is also joined with the above-mentioned functions to provide fields related to the location of plants. Moreover, the Model Tables Energy Prices Data and General Material Data are joined to enhance the data with additional information.

Carbon Intensity of Products

This View function is used to calculate the carbon intensity of products that are produced in the plant. Carbon intensity refers to the carbon emission per unit of the finished product. Function Collate All Emissions is used to calculate the carbon intensity of products.

First, carbon emissions are summed up based upon grouping by the following fields:
  • Plant

  • Material Number

  • Fiscal Year

  • Reporting Date

  • Order

  • Total Order Quantity

Then, the carbon intensity of products is then calculated by dividing the summed-up carbon emissions by the total order quantity of respective products.
