Manufacturing and Shared Service Data Input

This Model Table function is used to provide information about the production results from the companies within a group, with its production events, resources, and unit costs per each product and company.

The function defines the following fields:

  • Amount [GC]: You use this field to specify the amount in global currency that represents costs or revenues.

  • Quantity: You use this field as key figure to specify sold quantities.

  • Cost Type: You use this field to define the cost types. In our sample content, the cost types are “Scaled Costs”, “Fixed Costs”, “Balance” and “Risk Scaled Weighted Average”.

  • Unit Cost: You use this field to specify the costs in transaction currency per one unit of a product or service.

  • Product and Service: You use this field to specify the product or service which is being manufactured by following the manufacturing plans.

  • Amount [TC]: You use this field to specify the amount in transaction currency that represents costs or revenues.

  • Resource Value: This field contains the key figure used to allocate resources to activities and refers to the Resource Driver field as a unit.

  • Resource Driver: You use this field to specify the unit description of the resource, such as minutes, pieces, liters, and KWHs.

  • Scenario: You use this field to separate different scenarios.

  • Activity: You use this field to define the activity that uses the resource value as a variable portion to allocate the resources.

  • GL Account: You use this field to record revenues and costs at a granular level.

  • Global Currency: The global currency is the currency chosen in the sample content for group reporting. Irrespective of the currency used in an implementation project, it is common practice to translate every amount into the same currency so that only one currency (controlling area currency) is used in the complete calculation model.

  • Item Quantity: You use this field to specify the quantity of each item.

  • Item Unit: You use this field to specify the unit of each item.

  • Iteration Step: This numeric field shows the step number of iterations.

  • Parent Item Quantity: You use this field to specify the quantity of each parent item.

  • Parent Item Unit: You use this field to specify the unit of each parent item.

  • Partner Company: You use this field to specify the partner company.

  • Position Quantity: You use this field to specify the quantity showing how much of a resource is needed to produce the product it refers to.

  • Posting Date: You use this field to provide GL totals on a yearly, quarterly, monthly or even daily basis to run the profitability and cost management process.

  • Production Plan: You use this field to define different versions of production plans. For example, in this sample content there are several different plans.

  • Quantity Assignment: This field shows assigned quantities that are new or available again, for example, to backorders or assigned quantities from orders with low priority to those with a higher priority.

  • Resource: The resource driver data is based on an explicit Resource field instead of the original source system fields (such as GL Account, Cost Center and Profit Center). This makes reassignments easier and allows you to abstract the data derived from general ledger systems and planning systems from the profitability model. The Assign Resources function enriches the original data using the Resource field. This means that even if new accounts are added or become obsolete in the underlying GL accounts, you only need to update the resource assignments data, and not the calculation model itself.

  • Share [%]: This field shows the percentage part of the whole, usually for monetary values in relation to companies, partner companies, and clients.

  • Supplier: You use this field to define suppliers providing different resources.

  • Supplier Share: You use this field to specify the share of each supplier. This marks the quantity of resources used from each supplier.

  • Total Resource Consumption: You use this field to specify the amount/number of consumed resources, such as water, electricity, engineer and machines.

  • Transaction Currency: You use this field to define the currency of a given transaction.

  • Transfer Pricing Function: You use this field to define different transfer pricing functions (TPFs), each of them referring to a partner company in a “company-partner company” relation, where the partner company is the company receiving a product.

  • Unit: You use this field to specify the unit used for the resource.

  • Unit Cost [GC]: You use this field to specify the costs in global currency per one unit of a product or service.

  • Version: If you connect a real general ledger, you use this field to enter a fixed value. There is no variance because a general ledger provides only real data. You can use this field if versioned data is provided along with real general ledger data.

  • Activity Driver: You use this field to specify the unit description of the activity, such as pieces, hours, and FTEs.

  • Activity Value: This field contains the key figure used to allocate activities to products and services and refers to the Activity Driver field as a unit.

  • Amount Assignment: You use this field to specify the assigned amount.

  • Company: You use this field to define each company working on manufacturing each production plan.

  • Route: You use this field to specify the route used inside MNEs.
