You have mapped your organizational structure under Organizations in the administration console.
You have assigned sites to the organizational units.
You have assigned subscriptions to the sites in subordinate organizational units.
Context
By assigning subscriptions indirectly, you can distribute data using a defined hierarchy. The basic idea is that the site assigned to an organizational unit receives the data from all the sites in the subordinate organizational units. This means that this site must be assigned to the same subscriptions as its subordinate sites.
The indirect assignment for sites of the same site type is performed by higher level organizational units.
Procedure
Select the site for which you want to assign subscriptions of subordinate sites, in the navigation window.
Now choose Indirect Assignment in the context menu.
In the screen Subscriptions to be Checked, determine the number of the subscriptions to be checked.
The organizational structure is now displayed together with the corresponding sites and subscriptions in the area Objects of the screen Indirect Assignment of Subscriptions. The site from which your processing will start is highlighted (blue).
In the Action column an action is suggested for all the displayed subscriptions.
You can perform the following actions:

This subscription is assigned to a lower-level site within the displayed organizational structure, and therefore should also be assigned to the higher-level site, where it is missing.
This subscription is not assigned to the lower-level sites within the displayed organizational structure, and should therefore be removed from the higher-level site.
No action is required for this subscription.
The display should illustrate the relationships within the organizational structure. Normally this icon is displayed for subscriptions of the lowest-level organizational unit.
Another column shows the current Status of the subscription.
The following statuses are possible:

The proposed conflict is accepted.
The proposed conflict is rejected.
The results of an indirect assignment can only be saved when all the conflicts have been accepted or solved, that is, when all conflict icons () have been replaced with the icons or .
Save your entries.
Results
If you call an indirect assignment, an action is suggested for each subscription in the displayed organizational structure. This action is executed when the indirect assignment is saved.
If the execution of an action leads to a conflict (an inconsistency within your organizational structure), this is indicated by the icon . If you want to execute the indirect assignment, that is, save the result, you need to have solved all conflict situations beforehand, with or .
All conflict situations are solved, when you solve the conflicts within the highlighted site (your starting site). In this case, a solution is automatically suggested for the corresponding conflicts in all the higher-level sites. You can then accept this solution.
In the case of rejected actions, the icon for the combination of site and subscription is saved, and always displayed when this combination is involved in an indirect assignment. This means that you do not have to reject this action again.
