Business Package for Business Unit Analyst (mySAP ERP) The business package is aimed at Business Unit Analysts in Financial Accounting who are occasional users.
The Business Unit Analyst role comprises mainly reporting and planning activities. The Business Unit Analyst puts together the planning guides for his business unit, starts the planning process, collects the replies from the line managers and carries out any changes that may prove necessary. The analyst makes forecasts for his business unit, and monitors when set targets have been met. In the pre-planning stage he checks the organizational structures in his business unit and requests any necessary changes from the cost accounting employees.
The Business Unit Analyst takes care of the inquiries from line managers, both regarding the planning process and individual postings. This frequently involves analysis, and possibly a transfer posting or request to the general ledger accountant to undertake an adjustment posting.
The business package offers a number of monitors that track aggregate key figures for the business unit and alert the Business Unit Analyst to budget overruns, postings that exceed a given threshold, and critical postings. It offers conventional reports within a hierarchy that makes transparent the relationships between profit centers, cost centers, orders and projects in the business unit, and makes it easy to navigate through a large number of objects for which the Business Unit Analyst is responsible (for example, it is not uncommon to have a hundred cost centers).
This business package increases the productivity of the occasional user, because he can find all of the reports relevant to his business unit easily and quickly, and without having to fill out an initial selection screen.
It directs the Business Unit Analyst to the relevant information by allowing him to define rules that support him in monitoring key figures, budgets and individual postings. The business package makes it easier to verify or check the information selected, and to make or request adjustment postings.
The business package visualizes relationships between profit centers, cost centers, orders and projects in the business unit, and assists the user in seeing how costs are distributed to these units.
It offers a framework for the planning process and access to the plan data that the line managers have entered, and supports close collaboration between the Business Unit Analyst and the managers.
