Setting a Registration Password
Use
|
Content usage mode: remote role assignment, remote delta link, WSRP application sharing Applies to: producers |
As a security measure, a system administrator of a producer portal can define a password, which the system administrator of a remote consumer portal must enter when registering with your portal. Without the correct password, a consumer portal cannot be registered with your portal, and therefore is not able to access and consume remote content.
Prerequisites
-
You are authorized to access the portal role containing the Federated Portal workset.
-
You are authorized to use the Permission Editor to assign permissions to the Portal Security Zones.
Procedure
Step 1: Setting a Registration Password
This step is mandatory if from your producer portal you are servicing non-SAP consumers only or both SAP NetWeaver and non-SAP consumers. If your producer portal is servicing SAP NetWeaver consumers only, the procedure is highly recommended, but is mandatory if you have lowered the default assigned permissions or safety level of the security zone for the following portal service: com.sap.portal.ivs.wsrpservice/services/AutoGenProducer1_0
-
In the portal, navigate to .
-
Choose the Connection Options tab.
-
Select the Remote systems must enter a password to connect to your system checkbox.
-
In the Password field, enter the password.
-
Save your changes.
Step 2: Configuring Security Zone Permissions
If your producer portal is providing content to non-SAP consumers only or both SAP NetWeaver and non-SAP consumers, then you must assign the Everyone group to the security zone of the following portal service:
Security Zones/sap.com/NetWeaver.Portal/high_safety/com.sap.portal.ivs.wsrpservice/services/AutoGenProducer1_0
If your producer portal is servicing SAP NetWeaver consumers only, you can skip this step.
Step 3: Setting Up Users for a Non-SAP Consumer
If your producer portal is providing content to non-SAP consumers, then you also have to create a unique portal user with logon credentials for each non-SAP consumer.
For instructions, see Creating Access Users on the Producer for Non-SAP Consumers .
