Creating WSRP Connections to Producers

This topic describes how to create a WSRP connection, on your SAP NetWeaver consumer portal, to reference a remote WSRP-compliant (non-SAP or SAP NetWeaver) producer portal.

Prerequisites

  • You have obtained the URL to the WSDL file that is located on the remote producer portal.

  • You are assigned to the portal role that contains the Federated Portal workset. By default this is the System Administration role.

  • You have administrator read-write permission for the Portal Catalog in the WSRP Content Producers folder.

Procedure

  1. In the consumer portal, navigate to Start of the navigation pathSystem Administration Next navigation step Federated Portal Next navigation step  Non-SAP - WSRP Connections Next navigation step  Manage My WSRP ProducersEnd of the navigation path.

  2. In the Portal Catalog, right-click the WSRP Content Producers folder (or any of its subfolders), and then from the context menu, choose Start of the navigation pathNew Next navigation step WSRP ProducerEnd of the navigation path.

    The WSRP Producer wizard is launched.

  3. Complete the wizard while taking note of the following:

    General Properties

    Enter the general properties of the producer portal.

    Define Producer URL

    Enter the full URL of the WSDL definition file that is located on the remote producer portal:

    • The WSRP URL for an SAP NetWeaver producer must comprise the protocol, host name, and port number of the remote producer.

    • The WSRP URL for a non-SAP producer must comprise a full path to the published WSDL file on the remote producer. For example: http://<IP_address>:<port>/wps/wsdl/wsrp_service.wsdl
