Protecting the PDF Document

Use

You can specify that the PDF document of a shift report is to be protected from changes.

Prerequisites

In the Customizing activity Define Shift Report Types , you have selected the Protect Documents checkbox for a shift report type to specify that the shift report generated cannot be changed.

Features

  • If you have selected the Protect Documents checkbox, the PDF document that is generated is protected through encryption and cannot be changed through the use of external, non-SAP tools. However, it is possible to display the protected shift report without using a password.

    Note Note

    The disadvantage of these PDF documents that are protected from changes is that such a document cannot be indexed by all search engines. For this reason, it is not always possible to make use of the full-text search facility in this case.

  • If you have not selected the checkbox, the PDF document can be changed using external, non-SAP tools.
